During his 21 years as a cardiologist, he has seen an increase in healthcare costs from over-testing of patient with chest pain in the ER, increasing medical errors, overworked physicians and nurses, increasing ER crowding, decreasing reimbursements and a multitude of dis-incentives resulting in patient and physician dissatisfaction. Additionally, as a hospital administrator, legal consultant, and a reviewer for insurers, he has seen medicine evolve from other angles and understands the pain points of all of the stakeholders involved. Sitting on the board of a local Accountable Care Organization, he has seen the evolution of early value based programs. However, by integrating technology into everyday workflows, these programs could be advanced in measurable and immeasurable ways which would result in improved patient outcomes and an overall reduction in the cost of care.
Therefore, when Dr. Shah was asked during business school, "What do I do if my mom has chest pain? I really worry and want to know if it's real.", he realized at that instant that unlike him and his mom, the vast majority of the people do not have access to a worry free environment and don't know what steps to take.
DRS.LINQ was founded from that epiphany and years of observation and experience with a mission to bring mHeart to the market and achieve what is truly needed in improving the health of our patients while benefiting all stakeholders involved: Patients, Physicians, Healthcare Systems and Insurers
